In 2006 I was part of a small team developing a rhythm game that was cancelled before release. I was a level designer, but also a composer, tasked with producing a few original pieces of 2005 rhythm game-esque music. One of the songs, Cerulean Sky, was licensed a then-popular online rhythm game called O2Jam.
While working on the game, I met Jihnsius (Sean Hollar), another producer on the team. We became close friends, and after O2Jam licensed Cerulean Sky, he produced a remix of the track. Some time after, he tragically died.
The remix has been sitting on my hard drive for probably over a decade, and I've never been able to figure out what to do with it, other than listen to it every now and then and think about its author.
In the end, I've decided to release it here together with the original song and the cut from the O2Jam studio in his memory.
Jihnsius was a pretty cool guy and I miss him. Hope you guys enjoy his track, with my original versions provided for context.
